How much does a website cost?

The cost of a website in Slovenia ranges from a few hundred to several thousand euros. It depends on the number of pages, whether the design is custom or based on a template, on features such as a store or bookings, and on who writes the copy. At GudWeb a business website starts at €300 and an online store at €650, and you get a fixed price within one working day.

What affects the cost of a website

  • Number of pages and amount of content. More pages means more design, copy and checking.
  • Custom design or a template. A template is cheaper, but looks like many other websites and is often slower.
  • Copy and photos. If we prepare them, it's extra work, but often the biggest difference in the result.
  • Features. A store, bookings, multiple languages or integrations with other systems have a big impact on the price.
  • SEO. Basic optimisation is part of every website; in-depth SEO is separate work.

Hidden costs to watch out for

  • Domain, paid yearly.
  • Hosting, paid monthly or yearly.
  • Maintenance and updates, especially with WordPress.
  • Licences for paid templates or plugins.
  • Changes after launch, if they aren't included in the quote.

Before you sign, ask what is included and what costs extra. A good quote tells you on its own.

FAQ

FAQ

Why do website quotes vary so much?

Because providers sell very different things under the same name: from a template with your logo to a custom website with copy, SEO and maintenance. Compare what is included, not just the final number.

Is a cheap website a bad choice?

Not necessarily. It can be enough to start with. What matters is that it's fast, works on mobile and has clear contact details. Watch out for costs that come later.

Do price lists include VAT?

Often not. Public price lists often show prices excluding VAT, so always check.

How much does website maintenance cost?

It depends on the type of website. With us it starts at €15 a month and is known up front. More on the Hosting and maintenance page.
